Can you feel the excitement?

The 2007 World Series of Poker is just around the corner, as it gets started in early June. Can you believe that it is that time once again?

The people behind the World Series of Poker are featuring a wide and expansive array of different tournaments this year, which should provide for some very exciting storylines.

One of the biggest storylines this year will be: how much will the World Series of Poker feel the affect of the online gambling ban in the USA? Will online poker rooms still be representing at the casino, offering hospitality suites and free T-shirts? Will US authorities look to nab high-profile site operators such as Chris Ferguson at the event? I wouldn't put it past them.

And the big question is, how many players will the main event have this year? Harrah's has said that it is preparing for 10,000 players, which would make for an absolutely ridiculous prize pool of $100 million dollars.

I personally think that the event will do much better than some people think, and that the ban will have less impact that people think. Poker rooms are still running sattelites, and people will still want to play in the biggest event of the year.

Who will capture the championship this year? Another no-name such as Jamie Gold or a big-name pro like Phil Ivey?

So many storylines .. I personally can't wait.
