Celebrity Poker Showdown to Premier Soon
Published on October 3, 2003, 11:47 pm ESTAs if Texas Hold'em hadn't received enough exposure this year already, with the success of the World Poker Tour and Chris Moneymaker's World Series of Poker victory, Bravo announced that they are introducing a new show called "Celebrity Poker Showdown." This show will feature A list celebrities such as Jack Black and Martin Sheen playing Texas Hold'em poker.
Hosted by Kevin Pollack, the series will air six one-hour episodes, with the final episode being a championship match, pitting the winners from the five previous episodes against each other. The show will tape live at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas in front of a live audience. Hidden cameras will be added to the mix, so that the home audience can see what cards the celebrity is holding. This should prove to be an extremely entertaining show, considering the size of the egos involved.
