Antonius and Ivey Return to Poker World With Strong Results
Published on May 13th, 2018 5:34 pm ESTOver the past couple of years, names such as Fedor Holz and Christoph Vogelsang have been tearing up the poker world, especially the higher stakes events.
Over the past couple of months, however, Patrik Antonius and Phil Ivey have re-emerged to remind the poker world that they are still two of the greatest poker players who have ever lived. In addition, they have proven that their games have not lost a step and they can still hold their own against the young guns who got their starts playing 8-10 tables at a time.
Patrik Antonius, who seems to be making an effort to put himself out there right now (podcasts, more live events, etc), has been on an absolute tear since the start of 2018. Antonius, who has always tended to shy away from the live tournament circuit in favour of cash games, has more than $4 million in cashes in 2018, including a second place finish in the Super High Roller Bowl Macau for over $3 million. In addition, Antonius took down a €25,000 Super High Roller event at the partypoker MILLIONS Germany tournament series.
Phil Ivey, on the other hand, recently turned up at the Triton Super High Roller Series in Montenegro and promptly took down a preliminary event for over $600,000 USD.
Ivey has not been heard from that much as of late, as he has been battling the Borgata and Crockfords for tens of millions of dollars. With those court cases winding down, Ivey has been able to focus more on his poker game, which is going to spell trouble for the rest of the poker tournament circuit. Ivey's phenomenal results in high stakes tournaments over the past couple of years have shown that his game is not wavering one bit.

Patrik Antonius and Phil Ivey seem to be in top form as the World Series of Poker approaches.
That is bad news for the rest of the poker world.
