Rakeback No Longer Allowed At Party Poker
Published on May 6th, 2005, 7:52 pm ESTA shot was fired in the rakeback war by Party Poker over the last week. If you are currently receiving rakeback from a Party Poker affiliate or any of its skins (Empire Poker, etc.), listen up.
First off, Party Poker strictly forbids rakeback. In response to rampant rakeback schemes, Party Poker took the following step:
They prevented affiliates from viewing daily revenues on individual trackers that they felt were being used for rakeback. If an affiliate had 40 different tracker codes with one player on each code, then they will almost certainly paying rakeback. Now, the affiliate will only be able to see a total revenue for all the trackers combined, and not individually. So, an affiliate will have no idea how much rake you are contributing, so they won't know how much to pay you. That's the general gist of it.
Party Poker skins such as Empire Poker haven't seen this change yet, but without a doubt you will see Party Poker institute some sort of policy for its skin sites in the future. After all, if Party Poker prohibited rakeback, why would they let one of their skin sites allow rakeback?
If you receive rakeback from Empire Poker, you should probably enjoy it while it lasts.
