If you receive the Game Show Network, then please do yourself a favor and tune in to High Stakes Poker the next time it is on. The show is awesome, and features some of the best poker players in the world, including:
Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Gus Hansen, Freddy Deeb, and others.
The great thing about this show is that it is not tournament poker; it's cash game poker. And these players are playing with their own cash, so there is much more emotion in the games. The minimum buy-in is $50,000, and some players buy in for even more (such as Negreanu buying in for one million.) There have been many entertaining moments in this season, including:
-the now infamous Hansen vs. Negreanu hand, where Hansen gets quads against Negreanu's full house and wins a $600,000+ pot.
-the bickering between the players (espeically revolving around Sheikhan
-the humorous exchanges between players such as Eli Elizra, Jennifer Harman and Sam Farha
-the exceptional poker play
-the realization of just how out-matched amateurs are compared to the pros, even good amateurs
-The Farha/Greenstein AA versus KK hand, where Greenstein gets his aces cracked
-The Brunson / Greenstein hand, where Brunson busts Greenstein with AA vs. QQ
Do yourself a favor and tune it. You will see some great poker and some very entertaining characters.
