The World Poker Tour has decided to not film the Grand Prix de Paris event, citing France's crackdown against "illegal" gambling.

The event is due to be held from May 6th to May 11th, and will not be filmed by the WPT due to gaming regulations in France, which basically call for the crackdown on any gambling venture which isn't state-owned.

The French government handed down a ruling that because the WPT has a site, wptonline.com, that provides online gambling services, it will not be allowed to operate in France. This is even after the WPT made a specific effort to bar French players from playing at their site.

The event will still take place, however it will no longer be a part of the World Poker Tour slate of events.
